I owe you a post, before Friday is completely over, because I promised to show you the final part of my Easter set. Well that's it, a "hanging decoration". What do you call this in English? I have no clue and couldn't find a translation anywhere. With this card, this bookmark and the egg box my set is finally complete. The set came with some sweets, a few odds and ends for crafting and avmetal tin, which I left like it came from the store and will be a Easter present.
I have rather shamelessly stolen the make of this decoration from Diana, I have to admit. But I liked it so much that it was still in the back of my head all the way from Christmas to Easter ;o)
My Easter decoration on the other hand was my inspiration for the one I made for my grandma, even though that one is decorated from both sides, since it is supposed to hang in a window.
This one is intended for a wall or something alike, as it is blank on the back.

Dekorierte Eierschachtel / decorated egg box

This decorated egg box is part of a set and belongs to the card I showed last Thursday as my first Hanna and Friends DT project. I went once again with green/orange on it, but added some soft yellow to it as well. I liked the yellow egg box much better than the offwhite onces, they look so sad to me. Originally I planned for Tilda to be glued flat onto the box, but this just didn't look right to me, which is why it became an Easel-egg-box. I think I was missing the green and that was the reason I didn't like the box as I originally planned it. I only wanted to go with yellow/orange first. You'll see why on Friday when I show the last part of this set.
This box can be filled with about anything, but I intended it for sweets, which makes it a perfekt present for children for Easter.

Milk Can Savings Box

Spring eludes us today, at least part of it. Temperature is quite nice, but the sun is somewhat elusive today :o(

Anyway I am here to offer you spring like I love it. I used my absolute favourite from the new collection and used my recently discovered new favourite colors on her. Using the colors I used on her dress is a bit tricky, since they won't blend easily or even with some work, but I think I have it down now. The dress was done using only one color on the paper directly and the other two for the shading via tip to tip technique. Everything else turned out to be a complete failure.

I am in love with this savings box. On the pictures I have seen two parts where the glue shows, I'll do some corrective work there, but aside from that it is as colorful, flowery and tacky as I imagined it. Girly heaven if you ask me.

Recipe:

Stamp: Magnolia
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black & Desert Sand
Cardstock: SU Baja Breeze
Design Paper: SU from 2007 (Set Herbstblumen)
Coloring: Copics

Punches: Martha Stewart Giant Butterfly Punch
Flowers: Prima Athens, all other from Wild Orchid Crafts
Embellishments: SU Jewels Basic Rhinestones, 3mm white organza ribbon from stash, pins from stash, Swarovski bicone beads and pearl beads from stash

Storage 101

Hello everyone! Like I said yesterday, I don't have anything crafted to show you today, but it's still crafty. I believe, crafters are all pretty much the same. We buy tons and tons and tons of stuff and need a lot of storage space for it or at least some clever ideas, if space is limited.

I in particular am a very glittery girl. I don't use it too much on my cards, because I know most people don't appreciate too much bling bling *LOL*, but I still have a huuuuge amount of Stickles at hand. And these little bottles are a real hassle to store intelligently, if you ask me.
You should keep them upside down to avoid air bubbles and the likes, but keeping them in baskets or boxes like I did until a few days ago is never a good idea if you have lots of them.

I wanted a new storage. One that wouldn't take up huge amounts of space on my craft table, but would allow me to see all my Stickles at one glance. And keep them upright down of course.
This is what I came up with:

The Alcohol Inks don't need to be stored in any special way, but I had some space left and wanted them out of the way, so what would have been more obvious.

So, what is this? These are acrylic T-Displays (there are L-Displays as well, but you won't be able to use both sides on those so I preferred the T-version) and I used simple self adhesive velcro dots to keep the bottles in place. The displays are A4 size.
It works and beautifully so. I have had them since Wednesday and everything stays ins place, loading up both sides isn't too heavy and they are easy to move around.
Also A4 is the perfect hight for the Expedit racks from IKEA.

What do you think?

Boy it's cold outside!

It's been snowing for hours now and we still have all that snow from three days ago. This is so unusual for where I live. I think the cold is heavily influencing my crafting, because instead of some last minute Christmas cards I have to make for my family I made this:

It matches the tealight glass I did show several days ago. I gave one of those to my mother as a present at the 6th of December and I might give that bottle to her as well. I usually put in mini chains of light (10 bulbs, sometimes 20, if it fits), but I thought I'd go differen this time and not integrate the chain cable into the crafting like I ususall do to hide it. This way you can still use it as a lamp, the cable will show but there are chains with transparent or white cables, so I think, it won't hurt too much or you can use it as a vase or candle holder for stick candles, whatever tickles your fancy.

I love the way it turned out. And I love the icicles. I wanted icicles so bad for this bottle, because the shape just cried for it and quite loud as well XD. I have started another project yesterday, which I hope to finish by tomorrow, which will give a better view on the beauty of those icicles, but in the meantime you'll have to do with a closeup of my admittedly not perfect first try ;o)

I didn't hold back with the Diamond Dust again. I wanted this amazing bling for this bottle and I have again used it for my new project, but next I'll try to leave them just shiny and clear to see how this looks in comparison.

So I'm off to my craft table now. I still have to at least color some images for those Christmas cards even though I still don't want to make them *sigh*

Candle in a tin

Moving on to my November projects. There are only three of those actually, but I guess since I rambled about November being my month to write and spitting out thousends of words you are probably not surprised at all.

This was a candle in a tin. I bought it like that and didn't put it in there or anything. I just covered up this tacky, ugly chubby Angel printed on the tin and replaces it with something much more beautiful *LOL*.
I really hate these chubby angel thingys *urg*

Since this was a present, I really hope the vanilla scent of this candle is pleasent and not too artificial. I couldn't get the slightest whiff of it through the closed can. I hope for the best and wait for reports from the person who got it ;o)

Tomorrow will be another bookmark, I'm afraid. It actually came with this candle.

Christmas in August - Part II

Here is the rest of the stuff I made for my friend. Some of the colors are pretty loud, I know, but she likes it that way *gg*

Tomorrow I'll be back with a card.

Another of those fairy things for my Grandma

My granny loves her fairies. She keeps buying them always asking me to craft things for her using them. This is fairy #9 so far O__o, I still have 3 left and I am really hoping she'll at least buy some different ones next time, just to get some variation into this.

I used genuine moss and small branches for this one. I wanted to give it this "real" touch. I actually liked it a lot when I was done with it, it was the first of all the fairy project I might have been persuaded to keep for myself LOL. Probably not.

I gave it to her on my mother's birthday as a late Easter gift, since I couldn't visit on Easter. And she gave me yet another thing to do for her. At least this time without any fairies. It never gets boring when my family is involved.

And it was also the neighbour's birthday

Is your head spinning already with all these birthdays? LOL
It seems I only craft for birthdays at the moment, but I still have pictures of non birthday present crafting I did those last few weeks, don't worry.

So, this is the surprise tin I did for our neighbour at Liebenscheid (that's where my parents live). He is my mother's best friend and I thought I'd do a little surprise for him. I put only some tea in it, so nothing big or anything. I tried to make the tin not too girly, but interesting enough for his little daughter who'll keep it as a pencil tin and therefore not really mature *gg*

She loved it, and he loved his tea ;o)

It was my mother's birthday...

And that was her present ^___^
The card is already older and once again from my stash, but this one was very high up on my favourite list and I knew I either wanted to keep it or give it someone very special. And who is more special than my mum?
In the tin was her "real" present, a ring she wanted to have for months now, but never bought. I was a little sad that my Magnolia Spring Kit arrived the day after I finished the tin, a little princess would have been just perfect for it :o)
And the last thing I gave her was this tealight holder. It was originally just plain grey wood and fake stone and I decided to pimp it a little.

She loved her presents, so this was great success ^_____^

Birthday Present #5

Actually it's already #6, but I didn't craft anything for #5 and used a card from my stash, so nothing to show for that one.

This one was for a bunny and roses lover, obviously ;o)

The glass can either be used as a tea light holder, it will shine very lovely, or as a pencil holder for example. I'd use it as a tea light holder though.
The little box is supposed to be a jewelery box and I finally used one of my Magnolia mini stamps! (finally after 6 months)
Also, no new card for this one, I used one from my stash again.

The slightly different birthday card

I'm still not back to crafting daily... more once a week *sigh*, but I have something I can show right away for a change. This is a "card" I made for my boyfriend's brother in law. It was his 40th birthday yesterday and he got a CO2 pump for his fishtank so I thought this would be the perfect kind of card.
The text was written on the back of the divider and I didn't take a picture of that, because boyfriend made a mess using a very bold black marker (men are sooo dumb sometimes), but just imagine it there. The back was as unspectacular as it gets anyway.

Taking a picture of this wasn't very easy, using the flash was completely out of the picture and as you can see even great daylight made a mess of the picture, but I think it's good enough to see, what I did.

My next projects will be the birthday present for my mother and two more for the present circle I am part of, but those won't be shown before mid April and later. I hope I'll come up with something else to show in the meantime though. This blog is just too quiet at the moment, I'm very sorry for that.

Birthday Present #4

The last one for now. Again a crappy picture, sorry. This green something is a cookie tin and the ivy leaves actually wrap around the whole tin. I should have taken another picture of it.

Now you've seen what I've been able to craft beside all the work I have at the moment. Damn, I hate not being able to do more.

Birthday Present #3

I dug up the picture of another present I made. The main present can't be seen in the picture, because I only remember to take a pictuer AFTER I put the freshwater pearl necklace I made in the tin and glued it shut... talking about dumb blondes LOL
But as it was only a very simple design the packaging is much more fancy anyway and much more to look at ;o)

Birthday Present #1

I made some birthday presents in the last couple of months and didn't post them yet. This is the first one.
