Creative Friday #154 - Schmetterlinge

Simon Says Stamp DT Call II

Oh my god, I didn't believe I would make it in time. I had a BLAST with this challenge, but my main project (I did three) took up a tremendous amount of time, I needed some supplies for it and couldn't get them and so and so on. Sunday I really thought I wouldn't finish it. I had something else ready by then, but that wasn't THE idea I wanted to show to the world *lol*.

I decorated a tin. Yes, a tin, again not a card, I know, but I've had the idea for this tin in my head since last summer and I just had to make it now, it wouldn't let me go. I also made a card, just to show I can, even if it's a simple one. You can find it somewhere dooooown there after all those pictures of the tin and it's many details.

Crazy, isn't it? And you are probably wondering what is punched on there... the big flowers. No, really ;o)
I started out punching 40 big and 30 middle sized retro flowers.

Afterwards I inked every single one of them up to give it more color and depth. On some of them I used a very subtle shade, which is hard to make out on the picture.

That was the easy part. Afterwards each of the little piles of punched flowers was transformed into one flower... jup, 70 blossoms, 10 flowers, I tell you that nearly killed me and my fingers (crumpling 70 blossoms, 5 petals each, HURTS). I put them together mostly like shown in the great video tutorial by Rach (made some slight changes) shimmered them up with some golden and pearl pigment and added seed beads as a centre. Voilà. I love them.

During this project I fell soooo in love with my Pinflair Glue Gel. Don't know if Simon Says Stamp stores it, but if they don't yet they should really consider it, it's the most awesome glue ever.

So here is a list of materials I used for this: Light olive paper, sheer olive fabric (the sort you usually use to make lamps), satin ribbon in middle green and olive, flower soft in Christmas Green, some grass stuff from QVC Germany, several artificial plants, moss covered "stone", colored crafting paper, Distress Ink, Memento Inks, seed beads, mulberry grass leaves, white index card paper and Prismacolor pencils.
The stamps are all from Manolia's Pet & Animal collection.
I think that's it.

My second project is a lot more simple. I altered a calendar as a present for a friend of mine some months ago. Since I showed this one in the Just Gorjuss forum back then I am not going to submit it for this challenge, it's just on the picture to show the whole set.
The card and and storage tin are both new, just a little cat hair infected *sigh*. Those little devils are everywhere spreading their hair *lol*

My camera screwed up on the coloring... again. I'll get a new, much better camera in a couple of months. I am so looking forward to it.

That's it. Now I ask everyone reading this to keep their fingers crossed for me ;o)

Stampin' for the Weekend

I have finally something to show you again, due to the heat of the last weeks and all the annoying people and things from work getting on my nerves constantly I kept shying away from my craft table for over a week.
This is my entry for the "pink and grey" challenge over at Stampin' for the Weekend. Orignally this was also supposed to be my entry for the week 33 stampers challenge at the Just Gorjuss forum, but I was too late for that, it closes on Friday at midnight. But that's okay, I am just happy I finally had an idea again and finished something.
Pops! I used some of the lace you sent me for the first time. Thanks again, it is so gorgeous and fits the project just perfectly *hugs*.

Don't forget to enter my Blog Candy!

Stamps: Gorjuss
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Coloring: Prismacolors
Paper: White index card paper
Embellishments: Mullberry roses in grey, light pink and two tone white/pink, swarovski beads in rosa and black diamond, pearl spreads, lace and ribbon
Other: Glass paint in white (but it's acutally iridescent and changes to light pink), iridescent glitter, Stickles (pink, silver and stardust)

Allsorts Challenge #7 - Acetate

You probably already guessed that this was originally intended to be my entry for Allsorts challenge #5 "triangles", but no matter what I tried it just didn't want to come out right, which was why I ended up making and submitting a card instead. I couldn't really let go of the little brat though and therefore I pulled it out again this week and adapted it to this week's challenge and looky there, I got it finished (woohoo!).
This week's challenge is "acetate". The three stars below the triangle are cut out of acetate, after I stamped the star image on them and stickled them up for a not so little bit of glam. They really do look very pretty when the light is out and only the small leds are still burning, but I just can't catch that in the pictures *sigh*

Stamps: Gorjuss, LaBlanche
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Stazon Jet Black
Coloring: Prismacolors and Polychromos
Paper: White index card paper, dark purple cardstock
Embellishments: See trhough stars in transparent and yellow, coated in iridescent laquer, acrylic shooting star painted gold on the backside (gives it more depth and the color looks very even), acrylic star pendant, light yellow satin ribbon
Other: Chain of light, jumbo eyelet, stickles, chain and findings

It's still so damn hot here, man, how I hate that. This little Gorjuss Girl will probably become a present to our neighbours when their second child is born in September. Though I might still make something else, if they'd have a boy ;o)

Allsorts Challenge #6 - "Wings"

This week I'm very, very, very late for Allsorts, but considering I couldn't start on this project before yesterday, because I had to finish the saving box for the Just Magnolia Monthly Challenge first (I couldn't start before that, because I was missing some vital items for this project) I think it turned out pretty good.
Okay, what do we have here now exactly? It's a bulletin board, roughly Din A4 in size. I painted the cork metallic green, which you can see really good in the second picture, but it's acutally not that flashy and glitzy. I left the frame raw, because I liked the look of it, but in hindsight I'm not sure I'd do it like this again. It's not that I hate it, but I don't love it either, don't know.
Originally I colored 4 Gorjuss Girls for this board, but ended up not using the 4th one, because she didn't fit in. I don't know what I was thinking when I colored her red/black/white, but anyway I'll use her for a card or something now that she is all colored and winged and all. Coloring 4 Gorjuss Girls and 4 pairs of wings, except for 2 pairs of wings all yesterday evening REALLY makes you wish for not being someone who can do her coloring best using Prismacolor. Copics or Promarkers would have been so much easier on my hand and wrist, I really thought it would just fall off *lol*.
I also dyed the flowers myself except for the small ones with the butterflies on them. Most of the brads are fake (actually all but the one in the upper left corner), made of bead caps, pearls and findings, but I think it came out pretty neat and you don't notice right away.
The flowers with the little butterflies on them are the pins, but you probably could guess ;o)

Stamps: Gorjuss
Ink: A lot... let's see. Memento in Tuxedo Black, Dandelion, Rose Bud, Danube Blue, Grape Gelly... I think that's it. Distress Ink in Broken China
Paper: white index card paper, printer paper
Coloring: Prismacolor and Polychromos
Embellishments: Lots and lots of Prima Flowers, pearls, beads, findings, bead caps and one real brad, butterfly sequins
Other: Butterfly wing cliparts from the internet, green metallic acrylic paint, Perfect Pearls, yellow and blue pigment powder and of course the bulletin board.

Allsorts Challenge #5 und Megastamper Challenge #36

Endlich fertig.

Finally finished. This is my entry to challenge #5 at Allsorts and (even though rather unintentionally) also for Bea's (Megastamper) challenge. Originally I wanted to create something totally different for Allsorts, but this original plan drove me crazy last night and when I dug out Bea's current sketch and saw the triangle on it I went all: That's it now *lol*.
You may have guessed so already, this weeks challenge at Allsorts is "Triangle" and it turned out to be a surprisingly hard challenge for me, but I guess this was just because I absolutely wanted to make a no card project again, it's easy enough to integrate a triangle into a card.
Once again the picture is horrible, but I had to turn on the lights at three in the afternoon just to be able to keep up crafting. I think that says a lot.

Stamps: Gorjuss and Prima Marketing
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Bahama Blue and Rich Cocoa, Distress Ink Brushed Cuduroy, Walnut Stain and Broken China, VersaMagic Agean Blue
Paper: Aqua shimmer cardstock (I'm guessing Bazzill bling), dark brown Cardstock (again guessing Bazzill), SU cardstock Whisper White
Coloring: Prismacolors
Embellishments: Paper and fabric/plastic flowers, ribbon and brown iridescent gemstones
Other: Retro Flower punch large and medium, Stickles

Tin V

Kein Kommentar ;o).

No comment ;o):
I needed a storage tin for shorter things. Blending pens, embossing pens, everything that vanishes in the taller cappucino tins I used so far. Well, this is the one. This tin was really a bitch to work with, because it narrows down at the bottom... you shouldn't look at the backside, but I think the front turned out quite good, at least I like it *gg*

Stamps: Gorjuss and Betty's Creation
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Rose Bud
Coloring: Prismacolor and Polychromos
Paper: Black drawing paper, white index card paper
Embellishments: Swarovski beads in Jet and Fuchsia, rocailles beads, pink irediscent square gemstones and pink satin ribbon
Other: Hot pink embossing powder, loose eyeshadow "Pink Pajamas" (by Everyday Minerals) and loose eyeshadow "Kitten in Heels" (by Fyrinnae) used as a glimmer mist, Martha Steward "Doily Lace" border punch

Tin IV

Oh god, another one *g*. But I kinda warned you, didn't I? I already started this the day before yesterday, but stopped working on it yesterday to do the cupboard first. Actually I was mostly finished by then, I only added this mother-of-pearl-cateye element on the left side, the rest is still as I left it off yesterday.
Compared to the other three I did, which all had a flowery outcome, this one stands out somewhat, but I absolutely wanted to do this Gorjuss Girl and I absolutely wanted to use this Stampin' Up set (background paper) and could have never pulled off something flowery with that *lol*.

Stamps: Gorjuss, Stampin' Up
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black and Dandelion, VersaMagic Pink Petunia, Spring Pansy, Aegan Blue, Oasis Green and Tea Leaves
Paper: Light blue drawing paper, white index card paper
Coloring: Prismacolors
Embellishments: white and pink satin ribbin, white satin ribbon dyed yellow, raindrops in blue, green, yellow and pink, mother of pearl button and chip, cateye beads
Other:
Golden Perfect Pearls

Tin V. 3.0

Another one. Yes, I am working on building a tin-army *lol*. Some of you might have noticed seeing the first picture of it, but the fourth also confirms it, I made this one a near perfect match to the card I made for Sketch Saturday several weeks ago. I liked the card so much I just had to have a tin like that.
I have one empty tin left, after that I'll have to resume drinking instant cappuccino ;o)

Stamps: Gorjuss, Stampin Up (for both coloured papers used)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaMagic Cloud White, SU Real Red
Coloring: Prismacolors, Polychromos and Copics for the shadow
Paper: white index card paper, thin black cardstock and SU Real Red cardstock
Embellishments: Prima Flowers, metal charm and bead cap, pearls, red satin ribbon (instead of the cardstock I used on the card), various types of beads for the chain.
Other: Stickles, acrylic paint (didn't have another flower with a green centre left)

EDIT:

"3 Gorjuss For Me" *lol*

Stampin' for the Weekend Challenge #1

I am not much for cards this week ;o). This is my entry to the first challenge over at Stampin' for the Weekend", which was called "From Dusk to Dawn". Reading this I went all: "What??!!" but they were so nice to explain that this means yellow & purple, which I would have never guessed on my own *lol*.
This tin is slightly bigger than the last one and I haven't decided yet if I'll use it for my water color pencils or as a savings box (which is why you still can see the upper silver rim, I wouldn't be able to close the tin anymore if I had this covered up), but I think the pencils will win. The lid to this tin is colored in a very dark brown and I have no idea how to get this yellow or purple on a permanent basis, because I think every kind of color would just flake off again immediately.
The yellow ribbon I had to dye myself and that wasn't any fun at all *g*. It's amazing that there are still crucial things missing in ones craft room even if the darn thing is spilling over already.
Sadly you can't see it in the picture but I lightly sprayed golden Perfect Pearls on the feather. Not much, just a very slight glam effect. It was missing some kind of extra kick, now I think it's perfect.
The pictures aren't the best, especially the coloring of the Gorjuss Girl looks off and clumsily done *sigh*, but that's once again the awful light we have today, haven't seen the sun for 3 days now *glares at rainclouds*.

Stamps: Gorjuss, Stampin' Up
Ink: Distress Ink Dusty Concord, Memento Tuxedo Black and Dandelion (for the flowers)
Paper: Stampin Up' and white index card paper
Coloring: Prismacolors and Polychromos
Embellishments: yellow and purple ribbon, Prima Flowers, Pearls, Feather
Other: Perfect Pearls in white and gold, yellow pigment powder

Allsorts Challenge #4 "Pink and White"

Finally some time for some challenges. This is my entry for this week's Allsorts Challenge, themed "Pink and White". I badly needed some additional storage space for pens (or scissors, or brushes... I haven't decided yet) and somehow the challenge fit that perfectly.
I threw out some old stuff this week and found these beautiful mother of pearl buttons in pink and also in brown. You never believe what you have laying around, totally forgotten.
I really like how this tin came out in the end and even though it's really pink even my boyfriend likes it *lol*

Stamps: Gorjuss Girl, Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Angel Pink and Rosebud, Versamark embossing ink
Coloring: Prismacolors
Paper: Stampin' Up cardstock and white index card paper
Embellishments: Prima flowers, Pearls, Stampin' Up ribbon in white, pink mother of pearl button, Swarovski bicone beads in White Opal and Rose, butterfly charms, metal chain and findings
Other: clear, glittering embossing powder, Angel Mist in Cherry Blossom (used the Rosebud ink on the flowers as well)

ABC Challenge - O is for "Orderly"

My card for this week's ABC Challenge. The card was supposed to be decorated absolutely "symetrically" (if you can say it this way, not sure) and if you overlook that I didn't manage to properly center the image, I accomplished that *lol*.

Stamps: Gorjuss Girl Set II, Stampin' Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Angel Pink and Rich Cocoa, Versa Magic Pink Petunia
Paper: SU cardstock in dark brown, pink cardstock (no name), white index card paper
Coloring: Prismacolor & Polychromos
Embellishments: Pearls
Other: Silhouette punch, again bought at QVC so I don't know which manufacturer, EK Success circle punch, Ranger Glossy Accents

Sketch Saturday #50 Entry

With flash, just to show off the stickles beauty on the flowers *lol*

Ohne Blitz, da sieht man die Koloration wieder mal viel besser.
Without flash, as always it shows the color job better this way.

I'm not done yet with the inside, but I haven't decided yet, what I would like to do with it.

Stamps: Stampin' Up, Gorjuss Girls (Sugar Nellie)
Ink: Memento in Tuxedo Black and Lady Bug
Paper: Stampin' Up, thin black cardstock and white index card paper
Coloring: Prismacolors, Polychromos and Copics
Embellishments: Prima Flowers, butterfly charm, pearls and this metal flower/crown/whatever
