Happy Halloween!

Ich liiiiebe ja den Gruseltag *g*. Ist mir egal, daß das noch ein hochkommerzieller "Feiertag" ist, der aus USA zu uns rübergeschwappt ist, ich habe es schon immer geliebt.

Das hier war eigentlich meine Karte zur Creative Friday Challenge vor 2 Wochen zum Thema Lila, aber leider hatte ich Hirnfred ja vergessen, meine Karte auch hier auf dem Blog zu zeigen. Man wird alt und so ;o)

Genau wie die Crazy Birds warten auch die Crazy Cats schon viel zu lange auf ihren ersten Einsatz bei mir, aber jetzt hab ich's dann doch geschafft. Ich persönlich fand die Katze ja perfekt für die Karte, aber mein Mann war irgendwie nicht so meiner Meinung und fand die Katze irgendwie merkwürdig *seufz*. Jaaa, ich weiß, für dich sind Katzen immer fluffig und süß, aber die hier gruselt sich halt eben. Männer...

Und dann ist mir ja glatt noch was in die Hände gefallen, was ich passend zur der Tüte zum Thema Kürbisse gemacht hatte und irgendwie auch bisher noch nicht gezeigt habe. Meine neue Spezialität, glaube ich.

Ein kleines Lesezeichen für die Schauergeschichten des Lebens XD

Ich hoffe, ihr habt einen schönen Tag. Wenn heute bei euch Feiertag ist, dann genießt ihn! Wenn ihr so wie ich morgen Feiertag habt, dann hoffe ich, daß ihr euch ein langes Wochenende nehmen konntet (so wie ich und Gott, was hab ich die 4 Tage frei nötig O_o) und es ebenfalls genießt... na ja, und den armen Mäusen da draußen, die gar keinen Feiertag habe, wünsche ich trotzdem, daß ihr eine tolle Woche habt!

Nochmal verrückter Vogel

Ich brauchte noch eine Abschiedskarte für den zweiten Kollegen, der uns verlassen hat und hab aus diesem Anlaß gleich nochmal die verrückten Vögel zu Rate gezogen. Diesmal allerdings ohne mit Wasser rumzuwutzen ;o)

Koloriert hab ich diesmal mit Copics, das DP ist von Papermania und der Kartenrohling aus meinen Stash. Ursprünglich war es eine quadratische Karte, darum gab es ein paar Abschnitte, die ich für die Fähnchen nutzen konnte.

Jetzt hoffe ich einfach mal, daß ich in der nächsten Zeit keine Männerkarten mehr brauche. Die sind mir einfach zu anstrengend, obwohl ich ja noch ein paar Vögel hätte, die noch nicht zum Einsatz kamen *lach*

In nächster Zeit ist es dann hier auch nicht mehr ganz so ruhig auf dem Blog, ich hab noch ein paar Sachen, die ich noch nicht gezeigt hab und ich hoffe, daß ich allgemein ein bißchen kreativer unterwegs bin, sobald der August endlich da ist. So ein bißchen hat meine Muse sich schon an mich ran gekuschelt, das ist doch mal ein gutes Zeichen.

2016 - Das Jahr des Abschieds

Dieses Jahr ist irgendwie nicht gerade das Beste, hab ich das Gefühl. Bei uns steht ein großer Umbruch ins Haus (in der Firma) und leider haben sich bereits 2 Kollegen meines Teams entschieden, diese Veränderung nicht mit zu tragen. Der erste hat uns am vergangenen Freitag verlassen, der zweite folgt demnächst.

Da unser Chef persönlich nicht da sein konnte, um den Kollegen zu verabschieden, war ich für das Abschiedsgeschenk zuständig und da das auf einen ziemlich unkreativen Amazongutschein rauslief, hab ich mich spontan entschieden, daß doch dann wenigstens die Karte etwas mehr Herz haben sollte. Der Auftrag, das Geschenk zu besorgen kam allerdings erst Mittwoch (seeeehr zeitig), darum mußte das mit der Karte flott gehen. Noch dazu handelte es sich außerdem um diese schwierige Gattung Mann, darum wurde die Karte so simpel, simpler wäre nur noch unkoloriert auf schwarz-weiß XD

Ich sag euch, ich hab gefühlt 3 Millionen Textstempel (ehrlich, auch wenn ich öfter Karten ohne Text als mit Text mache), aber ich hatte nicht einen brauchbaren Stempel für eine Abschiedskarte *grummel*. Wenn mal ein Text zum Thema Abschied, aber nicht in einer Holzbox, die verbuddelt wird, dabei war, war es immer Einzahl.

Nach ewigem Suchen hab ich deshalb Word bemüht, wozu hat man einen Laserdrucker angeschafft? Allerdings kann ich jetzt mit Gewißheit sagen, Toner hält nicht sonderlich gut auf Aquarellpapier, das hab ich schon bei zwei Farbkarten festgestellt, die ich für meine Stabilo 68 und meine Kuretake Gansai Farben gemacht hatte, aber auch hier bei dem Text hat es sich wieder bewahrheitet. Nachdem der Hintergrund fertig war, sah der Text auf einmal etwas shabby aus. Gut, daß das nicht viel ausmacht, gell?

Ansonsten, ist ja nicht schwer zu erkenne, was ich gemacht hab. Tim Holtz' verrückte Vögel kamen zum Einsatz, zusammen mit einem passenden Zubehörstempel. Koloriert wurde komplett mit Distress Ink, der Cardstock in Taupe ist von SU, der Cardstockf ür den Kartenrohling ist von Paper Accents.

Joa, das war es auch schon. Morgen muß ich dann mal mit Cheffe reden, wann Kollege 2 geht und ob ich wieder für das Geschenk zuständig bin, dann geht die Hirnzermarterei von vorne los XD

Und während ich das hier verfaßt habe, kommt die Eilmeldung, daß Bud Spencer gestorben ist *seufz*. Ich sag ja, 2016 ist komisch. Ein Held meiner Kindheit :o)

Und gleich noch eins / and another one

Meine zweite Version des Lesezeichens und die gefällt mir sehr viel besser. Ich habe diesmal die Blätter nicht geknüllt, sondern nur ein wenig mit einen Stift gerollt. Außerdem hab ich die Blume mit den langen dünnen Blütenblättern von der Tim Holtz Stanze gegen eine andere ausgetauscht. Diesen Stanzer hab ich von QVC und ich glaube, er war im Original von Marvy, aber ich kann mich da auch täuschen. Auf jeden Fall paßt der von der Blütenform deutlich besser und läßt die Blüte etwas kompakter wirken.
Diesmal mit grünem Knopf statt Halbperle und dazu passend grünem Band. Die orange Perle ist eine sogenannte Cat Eye Perle für die Nichtfädler unter euch. Ich hab leider kaum Perlen in Orange, aber auch hier finde ich, daß sie von der Größe her eigentlich sogar besser ist als die vom ersten Versuch und weil es Glas ist, ist sie auch etwas schwerer als die Plastikperle. Von der Optik her sind Cat Eyes ja eh super schön.
Auch hier sind die Kanten der Blume wieder mit Kakaobraun von Stampin' Up gewischt.

This is my second version of the bookmark and I like this one even better. I didn't crinkle the petals this time around and I switched the flower with the long slim petals from the Tim Holtz die with one of my lever punches. I got it from QVC, but I think they are originally manufactured by Marvy, if I remember correctly. I think the shape of the flower fits much better and makes the flower a bit more compact and consisten looking. The Tim Holtz flower looked out of place... sort of.
I used a green button instead of the flatback pearl and green ribbon. The orange bead is a cateye bead for those of you who are not familiar with beading. I don't have much stast in orange as ist is my least favourite color (except for Halloween), but I think this bead is once again even better than the blue one I used for the first bookmark. It's bigger and since it is made of glass it is heavier as well. And lets don't get me started on this beautiful look of the cateye beads, there isn't much more stunning in the beading universe.
I inked the edges of the flower again using Close to Cocoa by Stampin' Up.

Blumiges Lesezeichen / Flowery Bookmark

Heute morgen hab ich ein schnelles, aber wie ich finde äußerst hübsches Lesezeichen, das ich euch zeigen möchte. Ich hab das Tutorial dazu hier gefunden. Das ganze Ding ist so einfach, daß es eigentlich kein Tutorial braucht, aber die Idee ist doch wirklich hübsch.
Ich hab meins etwas simpler gehalten und außerdem die "Tattered Florals" Stanze von Tim Holtz benutzt, da ich die von Stampin' Up (noch) nicht habe, aber im Prinzip geht das natürlich mit jeder Blumenstanze, Hauptsache die Größen der Blüten sind unterschiedlich.
Mein Band hab ich selbst gefärbt, in der Farbe, die ich auch benutzt habe, die Blüte an den Rändern zu altern. Die Perle war ein totaler Glücksgriff von der Farbe her, den ich noch in meinem Vorrat hatte.

Good morning, everyone. Today I have this pretty little bookmark to show. I found the tutorial over here. It really is pretty simple and easy to make, so it doesn't really need a tutorial to know how to do it, but it gave me the idea and I liked it a lot.
I kept mine a little more simple and I used the "Tattered Florals" die by Tim Holtz, because I don't have the one from Stampin' Up... yet, but you could use any type of flower die, the only important thing is that the size graduates.
I dyed my ribbon in the same color I used to in the edges of my flowers. The bead was a lucky match I still had in stash.

Frosty Memo Board

Damn, the winter this year is just craaazy. It snowed most of yesterday and in the middle of the night (it really was after midnight) the temperature rose to 3 degree Celcius plus and the snow started melting. My car war nearly back to black this morning... and about 45 minutes ago it started snowing like mad again O__o

So, fitting the white Christmas atmosphere out of my window I have another frosty project to show today. It is a memo board, the snowflakes acting as pins, but at the moment it's just supposed to look good. The pins need rework, they are too fragile to do their job properly, sadly.

I couldn't resist using the Tim Holtz Alterations snowman again. It is such cute fellow *gg*. I colored him going by the tutorial Tim showed during the 12 tags of Christmas this year. I just left out the scarf. I don't have a ribbon which would work to my satisfaction :o(

As you can see, I used tons of icicles on this project as well. The pictures are once again beyond crappy, but I hope you can see them anyway for the beauties they are. they turned out much better than my first try on the bottle. It might be because they are considerably larger as well, don't know.

Anyway, I might have another thing to show later. Depends on the light when I finish it.

Boy it's cold outside!

It's been snowing for hours now and we still have all that snow from three days ago. This is so unusual for where I live. I think the cold is heavily influencing my crafting, because instead of some last minute Christmas cards I have to make for my family I made this:






It matches the tealight glass I did show several days ago. I gave one of those to my mother as a present at the 6th of December and I might give that bottle to her as well. I usually put in mini chains of light (10 bulbs, sometimes 20, if it fits), but I thought I'd go differen this time and not integrate the chain cable into the crafting like I ususall do to hide it. This way you can still use it as a lamp, the cable will show but there are chains with transparent or white cables, so I think, it won't hurt too much or you can use it as a vase or candle holder for stick candles, whatever tickles your fancy.

I love the way it turned out. And I love the icicles. I wanted icicles so bad for this bottle, because the shape just cried for it and quite loud as well XD. I have started another project yesterday, which I hope to finish by tomorrow, which will give a better view on the beauty of those icicles, but in the meantime you'll have to do with a closeup of my admittedly not perfect first try ;o)




I didn't hold back with the Diamond Dust again. I wanted this amazing bling for this bottle and I have again used it for my new project, but next I'll try to leave them just shiny and clear to see how this looks in comparison.

So I'm off to my craft table now. I still have to at least color some images for those Christmas cards even though I still don't want to make them *sigh*

Desktop Calender

As a present she could use all year and not just at winter/Christmas, I made this calender. You can find the tutorial at the Whiff of Joy Inspiration Blog.
I have had a similiar calender (but bought and made from wood) for a couple of years now and I think they are cute, not too small and not too large and very decorative *g*
I made a stand for each season as I couldn't (or wouldn't) decide what to do for an all year round look.

As a already said yesterday, the pictures are crap. I should have checked them right away, but I was in a hury and had to sent off the package... oh well. I may be able to get better pictures from the recipient ;o)

Last but not least I also added some crafting goodies as well (and some sweets, but I didn't bother to take a picture of those *lol*):

Tealight holder / tealight glass

This is the tealight glass I was talking about yesterday. My fickle little muse only wants to make those at the moment *sigh*.
They are ridiculously simple, really, but I have handed out several as presents already and everyone loves them *lol*. Perfect little present. So of course I included one in the package I sent off yesterday.

For the effect on the glass I used a product from Heike Schäfer, but since her products are generelly unavailable outside of Germany and this particular product is not sold via her online shop, you might want to give "Kristallgel" by Viva Decor a try. It's the only other product I found so far that gives this very same effect if you apply dabbing with a sponge. Most other colors either get air bubbles or smooth out and look like shit when dry *lol*. Yes, I am kind of hard to please in this compartment.

The snow was applied using snow paste in a tube. Not sure if there are internationally available products, I'd wager a guess and say yes. The one I use is once again strictly German only.
The glitter on the snow is a transparent one. I have used white iridescent one as well on some glasses, but this one looks more real of course. Real snow doesn't twinkle grenn and pink, does it?

The snowflakes come from my most favourite die out of the winter dies by Tim Holtz. "Winter Wonderland", the one with the snowman (totally awesome as well, used him for another project, but I won't get this done before christmas, sadly). I used chipboard, painted the snowflakes white, distressed the edges using Walnut Stain Ink and added Twinklets Diamond Dust generously. I bought this stuff last year, but never before used it. It is truly gorgeous. I'm sad I only bought the 3 .oz jar, Joanna Sheen doesn't stock it anymore :o(

Totally simple, but as you can see from my babbling, I am truly and totally smitten by these little glasses.

I still have about ten of those glasses left. There is a certain type of chocolate spread my boyfriend loves (I think it is totally disgusting, I truly don't like anything white chocolate *yuck*) and it comes in these whiskey tumbler styled glasses. Awesome for crafting.

For tomorrow I have a desktop calender I'll show you. The pictures I took a completely useless and I didn't check them before I packed the calender up so I couldn't retake them *sigh*. That's blonde little me, I tell you.

Did I say Tuesday?

Well, scratch that, it arrived today!! The Hermes guy even came much earlier than he usually does and I am doing the happy dance right now. Wanna know what 200 Euros look like?



All 12 new Distress Colors as Ink Pads and Re-Inkers, 7 Alcohol Inks + blending tools and solution, 6 Perfect Pearls of which 5 are colors I didn't have yet and lots of beautiful stamps, not from Tim Holtz himself, but most are very similiar to his style so they are love, love, love!
Now I just need lots of time and inspiration LOL

Oh Dear

About 20 minutes ago the show with Tim Holtz on QVC Germany finished... about 30 minutes early. Well I thought they wouldn't even make it into the second hour, people just went crazy O__o
I pretty much ordered everything I wanted before the show aired, looking things up from the webpage and just added two more sets during the show. What a freaking brilliant idea! I spent way too much money though, slightly over 200 Euros, I don't even want to think about it...
No more crafting stuff for me until the end of March. I'll try to sell some stuff, because I really wanted to order the 1st Whiff of Joy kit together with the new City Girl collection as well, but aside from that I'll have to cut short on the buying shiny new things adiction I have.

But: I'll get the new Distress Ink colours by Tuesday!!! Isn't that amazing? All 12 colors and I bought all 12 Re-Inkers as well, this was such a fantastic surprise.

I'm on a total high right now.

Would anyone of you like to have the show? It is of course 98% German, Tim had a translator in his ear so they didn't translate much on the fly, but I just thought I'd offer.
